98 mph in a 70 Ticket Reduced out of Reckless in Greensville, VA

Today in Greensville General District Court, I defended a client charged with driving 98 mph in a 70 mph zone. Starting at 90 mph, these charges become very serious due to most judges’ policies. Often times the judge will not consider reducing the charge at such a high speed.

With this particular case, I was able to make an exception to the usual outcome. After deliberation with the judge, I argued for my client’s charge to be reduced upon completion of community service and driving school. At the conclusion, my client’s charge was reduced to a speeding ticket. This reduction prevented a misdemeanor from appearing on my client’s criminal record.
